Dementia, A Cognitive Disorder

Dementia is a situation, which takes place because of mental disorders. The individuals, who suffer from Dementia, face difficulties in their cognitive processes. They may find it difficult to recognize someone, planning and recalling some important information. If Dementia moves towards its severity, it may cause an individual to a memory loss, but the chances of such type of Dementia are too low. Most of the times Dementia is reversible, which means it can be cured through different techniques.

Dementia starts showing its effects, when any disease attacks to that specific part of brain. Researchers have found more than 50 causes for Dementia, but on the top most is Alzheimers disease. If someone is diagnosed with Dementia, then it’s quite necessary to take that person under treatment until he/she makes improvement on the scale.

In the age group of 40, the reason of suffering from Dementia is excessive use of Alcohol and different types of other drugs, which weakens the cognitive capabilities and there are very few chances that any genetic or hereditary disorder lead them to Dementia. While in the age group of 60-65, the chances of inherited disorders are on the higher side, also Alzheimer’s can be one of the causes for Dementia to affect strongly at this stage.

However, most within almost all ranges of age, the most common factor that may cause Dementia, is depression and Dementia is less likely to be caused by Vitamin (B 12) deficiency or any type of chronic infection.
